What GEO Costs, and How to Budget for It
There is no public benchmark for generative engine optimization pricing. Here is what actually drives the number, how region and commitment change it, and how to budget without guessing.

The first question every buyer asks is fair: what does this cost? The honest answer is that generative engine optimization is new enough that there is no public benchmark for it. Search “GEO agency pricing” and you will find ranges that disagree with each other by an order of magnitude, because everyone is quoting a different scope. So treat any number you see, including ours, as a quote rather than a market rate.
That does not mean you cannot budget for it. It means you budget from the work, not from a menu. Here is what actually moves the number.
What drives the cost
How much of your category you measure. A narrow B2B niche with three competitors and fifty buyer prompts is a very different job from a broad consumer category with dozens of rivals and hundreds of prompts across five engines. More surface to track, more to price.
How much you need built and distributed. Measurement is the cheap part. Moving your share of voice means content engineered to be extractable, structured data, and presence on the sources the models already trust. A brand that mostly needs a few comparison pages is not the same as one that needs a large, machine-readable content surface.
Your region. Rates are not the same in the Gulf, Europe, North America, and Southeast Asia. We scope to your market rather than apply one global sticker.
Your commitment. AI visibility compounds over months, not days. A short pilot and a longer ongoing program carry different economics, and a longer commitment usually earns a better rate.
How to think about the three entry points
- The audit is a one-time diagnostic. You get a board-ready picture of where you stand in AI answers versus named competitors, plus the specific moves that close the gap. It stands alone, with no obligation.
- The ongoing program is where share of voice actually moves: continuous tracking, content, and distribution, reported on leading indicators weekly.
- The build is for teams that need machine-readable content at scale, priced to the size and complexity of your data.
Most teams start with the audit, see the gap, and decide from there.
Is it even worth it?
Reasonable people are still debating that, and the skeptics have a point that a lot of “GEO” advice is recycled SEO. It is worth reading the practitioners arguing both sides, for example this r/GrowthHacking thread on whether GEO is a legit strategy or hype, and a16z’s framing that search is shifting from links to language. Our own view: it is not a new channel, it is a new scoreboard for the same work, plus a few tactics that are genuinely new. The only way to know what it is worth to your brand is to measure your current position.
The no-guessing way to budget
Start with the free visibility check. We run your domain through the engines and send a one-page snapshot of where you stand, at no cost and no obligation. That tells you whether there is a gap worth closing before you spend anything. If there is, a short call turns the scope above into a clear number for your case and region.
Send your domain and two or three competitors and we will get you the snapshot.
